Site Mission:
CriticalGamers.net exists to provide a community and gathering place where gamers can review and discuss the latest games, and to provide a repository of easily accessible, trustworthy information about games so that its visitors can make informed decisions before making a purchase. By utilizing the advice of their peers, the CriticalGamers.net staff hopes that the site's members will never again be duped into purchasing another "Pulse Racer."
Site History:
CriticalGamers.net came to life in December of 2005 when friends Phelios, an amateur writer/programmer and avid gamer, and Slimjackson, aspiring programmer and gamer, decided to cofound an internet community. Both felt that the current selection of gaming communities was too biased. They quickly realized that what was missing was a community that had game reviews written by gamers. After all, journalists don't know games, gamers know games... So the two set out to create such a community, where gamers could come to read reviews written by their peers.
Site Development:
This site was designed in its entirety by Slimjackson using Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 and Adobe Photoshop 7. CriticalGamers.net strives to create an appealing, user-friendly environment for visitors to access its content. Stylistic cues were taken from both Macromedia.com and Zymic.com, in addition to many other excellent websites, along with the suggestions of friends and the community.
